2010 Returning Staff Application Download(.pdf) 2010 Work Crew Application(.pdf) Summer Staff: The experience of our summer staff is one of the biggest draws of the Covenant Point experience. It is an experience with the camper's who visit us, with the parents of those campers, with the families that attend our family camps, and also a singular experience for the college age students who make up our summer staff. Our summer staff is comprised of college age students who devote their entire summer to the ministry of Covenant Point. We invest great time and care into the hiring, training, and overseeing of our staff throughout the summer so that each individual camper's experience is singularly transforming. We do this at the beginning of the summer by spending a total of three weeks training and equipping our staff with the knowlege, traditions, and ministry tools that provide an unforgettable experience and a time of growing in faith. There are several unique highlights of our summer ministry. One is a Prayer of Blessing, a tradition of individual prayer that occurs every week of camp, where counselors or family hosts take time during an extended chapel time to pray with and for each camper. Another focus is the daily spritual nugget led by staff each morning at the cross to encourage campers in their day. A weekly staff worship provides that extra boost of energy and passion for the demands of full days of camp activities and interactions. Using one's abilities and developing skills has been expressed by many former staff as another gift of working at Point. Work Crew: The Work Crew Program is a valuable and challenging opportunity for high school age youth,16 years and older, who desire to volunteer for a 4 or 5 week session during Point's summer camps. The position requires either grounds or kitchen work, interaction with campers, and involvement with programming needs each week. Often demanding of time and energy, young people who have a heart for ministry, enjoy working hard, and have a mature attitude are selected for this important and vital part of a camp ministry. The crew is under the direction of two college age mentors who care for the needs of each person and provide spiritual input. ![]() |
