If you have been thinking about this adventure, it is now time to take action and sign up for three days in the beautiful back country of the U.P. This summer's exploration will be to Grand Island off the shores of Munising, near Pictured Rocks National Shoreline. The island has two group camp sites where we will be staying in one spot for two nights. This gives us a chance to day hike to the end of the island--about 12 miles round trip. Backpacks will be about 25 pounds of weight, with each person needing to carry both personal and group supplies. With time to laugh, swim in cold Lake Superior, and talk around the camp fire at night, this experience will provide long time memories to enjoy. It also helps you to get fit for the outing.
