2019 Men’s Retreat

7pm Friday March 1 – 10am Sunday, March 3

Invite some friends out for a weekend of fun, fellowship, excellent food, meaningful conversations, and life-giving worship. Recreation opportunities include a broomball tournament, afternoon jam session (bring your own instrument), snowshoeing, cross country skiing on our groomed ski trails, sauna and polar bear dip, or just card games and conversations in the dining hall.

When registering, please make payment for full amount due. A $25 processing fee will be kept in the case of any cancellation one week (7 days) or less to the start of the retreat.

 

 

Speaker & Theme

2019 Men’s Retreat Speaker:

This year’s speaker is Dan Pietrzyk, an ordained Covenant pastor who has served churches in Chicago, IL; Jamestown, NY; Mason City, IA; Salina, KS; and Fairfield, OH. Dan, himself a local church pastor for over two decades, was a founding team member in the development of the Center for Spiritual Direction at North Park Theological Seminary and served as an interim director for the center. He also served as the director of Sustaining Pastoral Excellence for the ECC from 2004 to 2011. Before accepting this new position, he was the director of missional leadership development for the Midwest Conference offices in Omaha, Nebraska. Dan currently serves as the program director for the Evangelical Covenant Church for the Lilly Endowment’s National Initiative to Address Economic Challenges Facing Pastoral Leaders.

Pietrzyk served as the director of Sustaining Pastoral Excellence for the ECC from 2004 to 2011. Before accepting the position of Director of Financial Leadership, he was the Director of Missional Leadership Development for the Midwest Conference.  He has served on several boards for the Evangelical Covenant Church, taught for many years as an adjunct professor at North Park, and was a founding team member in the development of the Center for Spiritual Direction at North Park Theological Seminary.  He has a doctorate in strategic leadership from Regent University.

Dan and his wife Cari have been married for 39 years.  They have three grown children and three grandchildren.  They make their home in Paddock Lake, WI.
