Central Conference Pastor & Family Getaway Weekend

Friday, Jan 22 (7pm) – Monday, Jan 25 (9am)

We’re excited to offer 2021 Central Conference Pastor & Family Getaway Weekend, despite significant programatic changes for safety during this COVID-19 pandemic! We have taken great care to craft a fully distanced and safe experience for you and your family. Enjoy CPBC’s winter activities, share homemade Covenant Point meals served to-go and eating in a dining space set up in your own private lodge, and spend quality time while growing closer to Christ as a family.

This is not a conference and there will be no seminars or group programing. Take the weekend to relax and disconnect, but if necessary, limited bandwidth Wi-Fi will be available. Wi-Fi does not reach all lodges, so please let us know if you need it. Individual socially distanced work spaces with Wi-Fi can be made available to use for the duration of the weekend if needed.

This program will include no indoor gatherings with multiple family pods. Here are some other notable changes to how we’ll run this program:

  • Meals – We will not be serving meals in the Dining Hall. Instead, all meals will be served to-go from the Dining Hall and may be picked up to take back to enjoy in your lodges. Each lodge will be outfitted with a table and chairs to eat meals. Breakfast and Dinner will include hot meals, while lunches will be a cold bag lunch (which you can pick up early), that can easily be taken to eat at the Ski Hill, your lodge, or on any other winter adventure.
  • Housing – we’re committed to house only one family unit per lodge (unless asked otherwise). Some space in each lodge will be converted for dining.
  • Dining Hall – this space will not be available for playing games or gathering.
  • Worship – We will not be holding group worship services, but we will provide a remote (booklet, audio, or video) intergenerational devotional message to go through each day as a family. (We’re still working on what exactly this will look like)
  • Program – This weekend is directed more towards spending time with only your individual family unit, and a less with the broader camp community. We will not be holding large group activities. Many of the planned activities will be “Do It Yourself,” where camp simply provides resources:
    • Tubing Hill – with one family unit at a time
    • Ice Rink – CPBC has ice skates in a variety of size, but feel free to BYO
    • XC Skiing – if weather cooperates, we’ll have our Ge-Che Cross Country Ski Trail (16km) groomed and ready. Skis can be checked out from CPBC for the week.
    • Downhill skiing at Ski Brule. *Ski Brule will not be making snow for the 2020-21 season, so this is dependent on snowfall.
    • Sauna and polar bear dip – one family unit at a time (sign up for a time)
    • Snowshoe (check snowshoes in/out daily)
    • Ski or snowshoe at Anvil Lake (30 min drive, get map & birdseed to feed chickadees from your hand before you go! There is a $5 parking fee.)
    • Cookie Decorating (get a kit & take to your cabin)!
    • Games & puzzles in your lodge
    • DIY Ice Fishing (BYO gear & License), snow fort building, or any other winter activity your family can think up!
  • COVID-19 Guideline and Screening – Before your arrival at camp, please thoroughly read our Retreat COVID-19 Guidelines and fill out a COVID-19 Waiver and Screening Form.

Excited to offer this opportunity to enjoy camp this winter!
