Firsthand experience: Campers learn to cook a meal over a fire, orienteer with a map and compass, build a shelter in the woods, and navigate our low ropes team-building elements to encourage exploration and love of God’s creation.
Stillness and Silliness: Wilderness Week campers experience all the fun they grew to love in Pathfinders and Explorers, (big games, free time, the Canteen, waterfront, and campfires), and they also gain a new perspective on life and faith through unique outings and quiet moments in nature.
Deep Discipleship: God’s creation – of which we are a part – is very good. Campers experience special Wilderness Week chapels, camp songs, evening story times, and nature activities that reveal God’s handiwork.
Passion for Wilderness and Adventure: Campers embark on canoe, bog, and night hike excursions, dissect owl pellets, sleep out in a tree house or a yurt, learn to identify plants and animals, and discover the forest floor and lake teeming with life.
Space to Lead: Daily choices abound through Choose Your Own Nature Adventures, where each camper selects a skill area, activity or outing based on personal interests.
Excellent Care: This week is programmed to help campers know they are cared for and welcomed, and in turn, equipped to care for others and God’s creation.
